Making Your Own Nectars
Hummingbird Nectar by following this recipe:
Replace the nectar once every three to four days and clean the
feeder thoroughly.
Boil 4 Cups water. Mix 1 Cup granulated sugar. Stir and allow the mixture to
cool.
While The Nectar is cooling, Clean the feeder.
When nectar has cooled, fill your hummingbird feeder.
Unused nectar can be refrigerated for up to two weeks.
Tips:
Avoid dyes or food coloring, as they are not healthy birds.
Do Not use honey. Honey attracts bees and can grow black fungus
This Black Fungus is not healthy for birds.
It can/will cause a fatal liver and tongue disease in hummingbirds.
